Matt Damon Will Star In A Superhero Movie, If Ben Affleck Directs

Just when you thought that their best friendship couldn’t get any stronger, Matt Damon comes out and declares that he’d jump at the chance to be a superhero if Ben Affleck was directing.

Matt Damon made this revelation to the Irish Examiner while at the premiere of ‘Jason Bourne’, his upcoming return to the franchise that’s due out at the end of the month.

After Damon was jokingly asked whether he’d play the Robin to Ben Affleck’s Batman he couldn’t help but laugh, before admitting, “ I’d consider anything with the right director, but I can’t imagine there are any superheroes left, I think they’re all taken at this moment. If [Ben] was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben.”

This isn’t the first time that it’s been suggested Affleck and Damon should team up as the iconic DC heroes. When Ben Affleck was originally announced as Batman in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of The Justice’ the internet wasted little time in creating memes and images of the pair as the characters.

However, before you start picturing Damon and Affleck protecting the streets of Gotham in the already announced Batman story that’s in development over at Warner Bros., Damon admitted there’s one problem with this idea.

“The problem with Ben is every time he directs a movie, he gives himself the best role in it, so until he’s willing to give up the best role to one of friends, we’re not going to get on with it.”

How about a younger Alfred then?

Before he sees the light and realises how perfect he’d be as Mr Pennyworth, you’ll first get to see Matt Damon’s return as ‘Jason Bourne’, which hits UK cinemas on July 27.
