Matthew McConaughey picks up Texas students in golf buggy to make sure they get home safe

This could possibly be the most Matthew McConaughey thing that Matthew McConaughey has ever done.

On Tuesday night the Oscar-nominated actor returned to the University Of Texas, where he studied between 1989 and 1993, to help students get home safe, riding them back in a golf buggy.

Matthew McConaughey did this as part of the student-government program entitled SURE Walk, which has been created to make sure that pupils are safe at all hours when on campus. UT Student Gov’t’s Twitter page made sure to share an image of McConaughey volunteering, which immediately started to do the rounds online.

After posting the above image to Facebook, The University Of Texas Student Government also wrote, “Longhorns take care of each other, and it’s ”safe” to say Matthew McConaughey agrees. Don’t forget to use SURE Walk when traveling home late at night; you never know who might pick you up!” SURE stands for Student United for Rape Elimination.

UT Student Gov’t didn’t stop there, though, because on Wednesday afternoon they uploaded a video of Matthew McConaughey doing his best impression of Lewis Hamilton inside the golf buggy, which promoted the initiative even further.

Clearly the Oscar winning actor of ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’ is rather passionate about making sure kids get home alright, alright, alright.
