McConaughey emaciated in new pics

Matthew McConaughey has emerged looking thinner than ever after losing weight for his next film role.

The 42-year-old was spotted while on a family day out in Austin, Texas, over the weekend, coming out of a church service with his mother Mary.

The actor has been rapidly losing the pounds to play AIDS sufferer Ron Woodroof in his forthcoming movie 'The Dallas Buyer's Club'.

Woodroof, a Texas electrician, developed AIDS in the mid-80s and was given six months to live, but frustrated with the lack of medical options began a smuggling business providing unregulated drugs to other sufferers.

It's been filming in New Orleans, with Gael Garcia Bernal playing a fellow sufferer.
