Meet the smiling shark who is a dead ringer for Bruce from Finding Nemo

He was the scene-stealing smiling shark from Finding Nemo who had to keep telling himself that “fish are friends, not food”.

And it’s almost as if toothy Bruce has leapt from the computer-animated screen into the real deep blue sea.

That’s because he has a life-size lookalike in the shape of Snooty, who rules the waves with a megawatt grin.

The female lemon shark is popular among divers off the coast of Jupiter, Florida, because she always has a massive smile on her face, just like Bruce from the Pixar favourite.

Her permanent grin is caused by the unique way her jaw – or should that be Jaws? – is set.

Snooty was recently snapped by photographer Cassie Jensen, who says she had been waiting for years to catch a glimpse of the toothy predator.

“I have been diving with many sharks before, but this was the first time I had ever met Snooty,” said Ms Jensen.

“I’ve been wanting to meet her for a long time, so when I saw her cruise by me, my heart began to race.

“She is a well known shark in Florida waters for the way her jaw is set, causing her to constantly look like she is smiling.

“She also has a crimped tail but it doesn’t seem to bother her, and we love her even more for it.

“She’s always smiling and happy to be around us.”
