Update, 11/17, 3:40 p.m. EST: According to a source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to vacate Kensington Palace nor move into Apartment 1A. A Kensington Palace source states Harry and Meghan are happy with life in Oxfordshire and are using Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace as their London pied-à-terre.

Original Post, 11/17/18, 1:15 p.m. EST: It's regularly been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be moving house soon, especially since the announcement that Meghan Markle is expecting her first baby with Prince Harry.

It makes sense that Meghan and Harry would want to move to a bigger property ahead of the arrival of their first child, which is due in the Spring of 2019. At the moment, they live in Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace. Their residence is a modest two-bedroom property, at which Prince Harry lived on his own before Meghan moved to England.

Originally, it was believed that Meghan and Harry would take up residence in the apartment next door to Kate Middleton and Prince William's home. The neighboring 21-bedroom Apartment 1 in Kensington Palace is currently inhabited by Queen Elizabeth's cousin, the Duke of Gloucester and his wife, Birgitte van Deurs. According to reports, the Gloucesters would apparently like to stay in the apartment.

With a a rumored adjoining door between the two apartments, the royal Fab Four would be closer than ever if Harry and Meghan moved in.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be changing their plans. Per Richard Eden, Harry and Meghan "may leave the confines of Kensington Palace altogether," rather than moving in next door to Kate and William.

A royal source even goes so far as to tell Eden that, "Harry and Meghan want to move, and need more space, but they don’t want to live next door to William and Catherine." The royal source also states that "There are plenty of other options, including using their own money to buy their own place."

Whether or not Meghan and Harry will move away from Kensington Palace remains to be seen, but the major change would certainly be in keeping with the recent news that the princes plan to live separate lives now that they are both married. It's truly starting to sound like the end of an era.
