Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted on a rare date night with some famous friends in their new home of Montecito, Calif.
On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed leaving Lucky’s Steakhouse following dinner with their friends, Canadian music producer David Foster and his wife, “Smash” star Katharine McPhee.
Markle looked chic wearing the Reissue Trench by Club Monaco, which is currently on sale, draped over her shoulders, carrying $1,205 small logo tote bag by Stella McCartney. The 39-year-old Duchess opted for a camel crewneck sweater paired with what has become a go-to for her fall wardrobe, a pair of luxe leather trousers. Despite the neutral colour palette, Markle added a pop of colour to the ensemble with a pair of orange suede mules by Chloe Gosselin (from $324).
According to the Daily Mail, the Sussexes were on hand to celebrate the Foster and McPhee’s pregnancy news.
A source confirmed to People that the 35-year-old former “American Idol” contestant and the 70-year-old are expecting their first child together. It is the first child for McPhee and the sixth for Foster, who shares daughters Allison, 50, and Amy, 46, from former relationships as well as daughters Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34 with his second wife Rebecca Dyer.
While the Sussexes and Fosters may seem like an unlikely foursome, the couples share many close ties. Both Markle and McPhee both attended Immaculate Heart High School growing up, but reconnected while McPhee was performing in the musical “Waitress” in London. Foster is longtime friends with Markle’s closest friends, Ben and Jessica Mulroney. According to reports, it was Foster who helped the royal couple plan their temporary move to Vancouver Island in 2019.
