Men In Black III tops chart of most mistakes

The Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones blockbuster racked up 63 continuity errors

'Men In Black III' has topped the chart of the most continuity mistakes of any film in 2012.

The poll, put together by Moviemistakes.com, uncovered a total of 63 errors, putting it way out in front of its other competition.

The 23rd Bond film 'Skyfall' came in at number two with 35 mistakes, followed by 'The Dark Knight Rises' with 24, 'The Amazing Spider-Man' with 24 and 'The Avengers' with 22.

Largely, the errors are only to be spotted by the eagle-eyed viewer, including props appearing in shots out of nowhere and costume items changing.

'Skyfall' features more obvious errors, including a smashed windscreen in the opening car chase being replaced miraculously in later shots, and Bond's lace-ups changing to ankle boots.

Critic Barry Norman told the Daily Mail: “If you analyse the number of continuity errors it’s astonishing how many mistakes seem to go under the radar but there’s no accounting for human error.

“I never really noticed these so called bloopers and I’ve been watching films ever since I can remember.

“To be honest I think the people who pick these things out have far too much time on their hands.”
