Men In Black & Jump Street Crossover Is Really Happening

Remember the rumoured ‘Men in Black’ and ‘Jump Street’ crossover? Yeah…

According to Variety, the upcoming crossover film – which was revealed during the infamous Sony hack – is actually in the pipeline… despite it sounding a bit ridiculous.

“The surprise may have been ruined in Sony’s hack fiasco last year, but insiders tell Variety the studio is indeed planning a ‘23 Jump Street’-‘Men in Black’ crossover movie.”

And it looks as though they may have already found a director.

“According to sources, James Bobin, director of “The Muppets” and “Flight of the Conchords,” is in early talks to direct the action comedy. While no official greenlight has been given, Sony is already eyeing a June production start date.”

Of course, James Bobin would be stepping in for Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first two ‘Jump Street’ movies. And seeing as the duo are now busy with the upcoming Han Solo ‘Star Wars’ spin-off, it looks as though the studio has had to find a replacement.

But who will star in the upcoming crossover?

It looks as though we can count out our favourite ‘Men in Black’ stars…

“Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will return to reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt, respectively. The two are also producing. As for Agent Jay and Agent Kay, execs have already made it clear Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be reprising the roles they made famous as the studio looks to use this film to relaunch the franchise with younger, fresher faces.”

Does this mean that Tatum and Hill will be joined by the next generation of agents?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but ‘Men in Black’ fans will no doubt be disappointed by the lack of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
