Police are appealing for information after releasing images of a man they are hunting for raping a woman in west London.

Detectives have issued a CCTV image of the suspect following the "horrific" attack in the early hours of Sunday, October 13.

Police say the suspect - who had a "man bun" hairstyle - met his victim outside a bar and offered to walk her home.

But he raped the woman on a footbridge over a railway line in White City, close to Bentworth Road.

When a member of the public walked by, the victim managed to flee the scene and stopped the driver of a passing car, who called police at around 4.30am.

The victim, who is said to be in her 20s, later needed hospital treatment for facial injuries.

DC James Bulpin, from the Met’s Central West safeguarding team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may know this man or who saw someone matching his description in the area on 13 October to come forward with any information they have.

“We also believe there was a male witness to this attack who ran away from the scene and the details he holds could be vital to our investigation.

“Similarly, if you saw or heard anything that seemed out of the ordinary, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Any piece of information, no matter how small, could help us.”
