Michael Bay Shares New Photo Of Barricade In Transformers: The Last Knight

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ is in production, and the fifth installment in box office-destroying series has its share of big names, from returning star Mark Wahlberg to the legendary Sir Anthony Hopkins.

But the human element in these movies will always play second fiddle to those shape-shifting, heavily armed giant robots from outer space - so fans of the series will be keen to know which of their old favourite Transformers will be back.

Among these is the Decepticon, Barricade - and director Michael Bay has confirmed this by sharing a new image of the villain, whilst in police car form.

The photo was shared on Bay’s website, marked simply “to punish and enslave’ - Barricade’s macabre twist on the standard US police car slogan “to protect and serve.”

This will mark Barricade’s third appearance in the ‘Transformers’ movies, the Decepticon having appeared in both the 2007 original and 2011′s third installment ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon.’

His presence may be something of a surprise to fans of the series, as he was presumed to have been destroyed during ‘Dark of the Moon’s climax. Not that there was much left that hadn’t been destroyed by the end of that film.

But if Barricade’s back, we can expect plenty of stuff will get destroyed in ‘The Last Knight’ too… well alright, it’s fair to assume there’ll be destruction galore regardless.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ opens 23 June 2017.
