Michelle Visage is hoping to permanently relocate to the UK: 'It's my favourite place on earth'

Michelle Visage is hoping to make the UK her permanent home in the not-so-distant future.

The US star, appearing on White Wine Question Time, told host Kate Thornton that she wants to make the big move across the pond with husband David Case when her two daughters have finished university.

"Eventually we want to end up over there full-time. It's my favourite place on earth," the 52-year-old said.

"For me, the first time I ever went over I was 13 years.

“I come from a family that didn't have a lot of money and they saved their whole life, I remember saving up my whole life for this big trip to England and we went as a family for two weeks.

“It was like the Griswolds in [National Lampoon’s] European Vacation because my dad rented a car and I remember him trying to get petrol and him bumping into the pump, my mother and him fighting – it was a mess.

“But I got to go to places like Brighton and Dover and Wales and Edinburgh and we stayed in bed and breakfasts everywhere, I fell in love in Stratford-upon-Avon."

Visage went on: "It was the most amazing experience and I think in a former life, whether you believe in that or not, I was English and I was probably from the North and it's just a connection.

"When I get off the plane at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted I feel like I'm home, I feel like I'm accepted by the British people, I feel like the sense of humour is totally on line with mine. I love the architecture, I even love the weather."

The presenter currently resides in Los Angeles with Case, with whom she shares daughters Lillie, 20, and Lola, 18.

Visage’s work frequently takes her to the UK and she has competed in several British reality shows, including Celebrity Big Brother back in 2015 and Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.

Last week saw the second series of Drag Race UK kick off, with Visage appearing on the judging panel alongside RuPaul and alternating judges Graham Norton and Alan Carr.
