Michelle Yeoh lands next lead movie role in The Mother
Michelle Yeoh has landed her next lead movie role in The Mother.
The new action thriller will see the Oscar-winner play the role of an immigrant mother and businesswoman called Ann, who looks to make the best of her and her family's new life in the US.
However, she is forced to bring back her past after her two teenage sons get in trouble with a Boston dirty cop and a crime ring, as she goes to any lengths it takes to keep them safe.

The Mother will be directed by Mélanie Laurent, with filming expected to begin in summer of this year.
The movie is the latest in a busy slate for the Everything Everywhere All at Once star, with roles in the upcoming Wicked and Avatar movies on the horizon.
Yeoh has also just started work on the new Star Trek movie, which will see her reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from TV series Discovery.
Executive producer Alex Kurtzman confirmed work had begun last month, saying: "And we're off to the races!

"Thrilled to report principal photography has started on Star Trek: Section 31. We welcome our incredible cast of new characters as they join our beloved Michelle Yeoh on her next wild adventure across the Trek universe."
The film's synopsis reads: "Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, [Georgiou] also must face the sins of her past."
Yeoh made history last year after winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for Everything Everywhere All at Once, becoming the first Asian woman to win the honour.
The Mother is yet to confirm a release date.
