Millie Mackintosh has been praised by fans for sharing a photo of herself breastfeeding her baby, while urging others to help normalise the feeding method.

In the snapshot, shared to Instagram, the new mum can be seen lying down on her side in a black top and sunglasses as she nurses her daughter Sienna Grace.

“My favourite way to feed her,” she captioned the shot, adding the hashtag #normalisebreastfeeding.

After Mackintosh shared the intimate shot, fans were quick to head to the comments to praise the new mum for helping to normalise breastfeeding.

“Thank you for using your platform to help others understand and see that it’s normal and healthy,” one person wrote.

“Your new-mother content is real and much appreciated. You both look beautiful, thanks for sharing your honest post birth journey,” another added.

“This beautiful photo is beyond important to try to raise breastfeeding rates in this country. Huge congratulations to you and your little one,” yet another fan wrote.

Others shared their own experiences of receiving negative comments about breastfeeding.

“My baby has turned 6 months old today and my neighbour was horrified when I said I am still breastfeeding when I bumped in to her yesterday,” one mum shared.

“She said ‘why not formula yet’. I don’t understand the anti breastfeeding from some.”

As well as sharing bonding moments with her daughter, Mackintosh has also shared some of the more difficult aspects of breastfeeding.

She recently posted a video of herself speaking out about the struggles she has faced.

Sharing a clip of herself feeding on her Instagram Stories, she wrote in the caption: “Some days it feels like all I do is feed her.”

She also shared an image of herself expressing breast milk, while also holding baby Sienna and a wine glass.

“Multitasking,” she captioned the picture.

Mackintosh and her husband Hugo Taylor who are both former stars of Made In Chelsea, welcomed their daughter in May.

Since then, the new mum has been giving fans a refreshingly honest glimpse into her motherhood journey.

She recently received a wave of support after opening up about how she feels about her postpartum body.

Revealing it would be a “lie” if she said she felt happy with her post-pregnancy body, the former reality TV star added that comments she has received online have made things harder.

Alongside the relatable caption, she shared a photo of herself in underwear holding her nine-week-old daughter.

“I’m in awe of what my body has achieved over the last year but I find it hard not seeing the girl I know to be me looking back at me in the mirror,” she wrote.

She went on to state that she refuses to “punish” herself and that Sienna is “worth every extra inch, pound and stretch mark” as her body made her a mother.

“And for that I’ll always be grateful,” she concluded her emotional post.

Thousands of her 1.4 million followers flocked to the comment section to thank the star for her honesty about what it’s like to be a new mum.

The 30-year-old isn’t the only one to open up about breastfeeding recently. Last week Myleene Klass hit back against shamers who criticised her decision to breastfeed her son, calling for people to “support and respect, not critique” mothers.

The 42-year-old radio host headed to Instagram to share a collection of snapshots of her breastfeeding her 11-month-old son Apollo alongside a powerful defence of breastfeeding.

“Uh oh. Some of us mums are being chastised for pumping,” she began her post. “No one bats an eyelid prepping their own breakfast, why choose to get flustered over my baby having his? Boobs were designed to feed.

“How funny that some fat, cells and glands could so deeply offend so many. Being a mum is hard enough. You can't do right for doing wrong. Seemingly, everyone knows how to raise YOUR baby except you.”
