Well, we finally know exactly when season two will drop – and luckily we have just over a month to wait.
Appearing on KCRW's The Treatment podcast, executive producer David Fincher confirmed the next outing will drop on August 16, so mark your calendars.
That confirms that fellow exec producer Charlize Theron was right when she seemingly revealed earlier this year that the new season would be released in August.
The second season of the serial killer drama has certainly been a long time coming, especially as it was confirmed all the way back in November 2017.
The new episodes are set to pick up between 1979 and 1981, two years after the events of season one, and focus on the Atlanta child murders, which were a series of at least 28 killings of African-American children, teenagers and adults.
"Next year we're looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we'll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice," Fincher previously said of the second season and how music will play an integral role.
"The music will evolve. It's intended to support what's happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons."
Mindhunter season 2 will be released on Netflix on August 16. Season one is available to stream now.
