Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is coming to cinemas this July, and we've finally got a new trailer for Ethan Hunt's new mission which you can check out above.

In case the title didn't give it away, the new movie is the first of a two-part outing for Tom Cruise's super spy. It's been speculated that this could be the end of the road for the series, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The new movie sees Ethan and his team head on their most dangerous mission yet to tradk down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity.

With the fate of the world at stake and dark forces from his past closing in, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about the most.

Mission: Impossible 7 has been kept closely guarded, despite the fact that the first trailer came out almost a year ago. All we really know is that it'll tie closely to Ethan Hunt's past with returning characters from across the entire series.

And, of course, it'll feature Tom Cruise doing some more crazy, death-defying stunts in the name of cinema, with the new trailer teasing just some of the spectacle in store.

Alongside Cruise's return, the new movie brings back Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg as IMF agents Luther and Benji, respectively, as well as Rebecca Ferguson as former MI6 agent Ilsa Faust and Vanessa Kirby as arms dealer Alanna Mitsopolis, aka the White Widow.

The franchise has also added some notable new names including Guardians of the Galaxy star Pom Klementieff and Marvel star Hayley Atwell as Grace.

While we haven't had any new footage in a while, we did get our first image of Pom's character last month.

Director Christopher McQuarrie said of Klementieff's character: "She is somebody who, at the start of our story, is partnered with Esai [Morales] and represents this malevolent force that Ethan is opposed to."

Meanwhile, if you're wondering why the movie is titled Dead Reckoning, McQuarrie explained it's a nod to Ethan's past.

"There are many things emerging from Ethan's past," he said. "Dead Reckoning is a navigational term. It means you're picking a course based solely on your last known position and that becomes quite the metaphor not only for Ethan, but several characters."

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is released in UK cinemas on July 11 and in US cinemas on July 12.
