'Benidorm' creator Derren Litten has enough material for 74 more episodes of the iconic sitcom.

The TV writer actually resides near the Spanish tourist destination the hit series - which ran from 2007 and 2018 - was set in, and he's open to the programme returning and has called on ITV to reach out to him to make it happen.

One fan on X asked: “Would be great to see new episodes… Derren Litten surely living in Benners you have plenty of stories you could pen?”

To which, he replied: "I don’t live in Benidorm but I live fairly close by.

“I have more stories for another 74 episodes; if ITV wants them, they know where I am!”

Sherrie Hewson previously admitted she would love to return to 'Benidorm'.

The 73-year-old actress played Joyce Temple-Savage and would relish the chance to reprise her role.

Sherrie told the Sunday Mirror newspaper in 2020: "'Benidorm' was the most amazing job. We were out there for six months of the year for 10 years.

"Everyone who came out didn't go home. They paid for their own hotels so they could stay longer.

"We had the best time. I've had the best telly career ever and that ended with 'Benidorm'. And it's still on telly every day. I'd be back in a flash if Derren [Litten] brought it back. I've told him that."

However, Derren previously insisted 'Benidorm' won't return for another series.

But Sherrie wasn't entirely convinced that would remain the case.

She said: "Never say never. I never go two steps without somebody stopping me saying they were thrilled it's on Netflix."
