Actor catches forty winks while Michael Caine fills in.

Morgan Freeman falls asleep in live TV interview

Being a movie star is tiring business...

Tiring, and maybe, if you're answering the same questions over and over on a publicity junket, a bit boring too.

As if to confirm this, Morgan Freeman managed to squeeze in a nap during an interview on live TV in the US yesterday. Check out the video above from Australian news show Sunrise.

The 75-year-old actor was appearing alongside Michael Caine promoting the pair's new film 'Now You See Me' on Fox News's Seattle affiliate station KCPQ.

But while Caine fielded the questions, Freeman was clearly struggling to stay conscious.

After battling valiantly, he slumped, chin in his chest, and nodded off leaving Caine to continue the chat and 'This Morning' presenters Kaci Aitchison and Bill Wixey to pretend nothing was amiss.

Amusingly, Caine seemed oblivious to the fact that his co-star was conked out next to him.

Freeman did wake up towards the end of the interview, and ever the pro, even answered a few questions of his own.

If any other star did this, you’d think they were maybe a bit rude. But because it’s Morgan Freeman, it simply confirms his status as the coolest actor around.

Caine and Freeman star in the magic-based heist movie, alongside Jessie Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo and Woody Harrelson, in which a group of magicians steal from the wealthy and give to the needy.

It's due out in the UK on July 3.
