This Morning's Spin to Win competition has had its fair share of odd moments in the past, but nothing quite as humorous and awkward as today's (September 1o) edition.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby called up a man named Matthew to try to win him some prizes – the top prize was £2,000 rather than £3,000 today as someone won the top prize yesterday – but he didn't pick up the phone until just before the duo were about to give up.

Phil asked what the lucky viewer could have been up to if he knew he was entering a TV phone-in, and Matthew just said he was busy. The host then asked if Matthew was at home with his wife, which he confirmed was the case.

Holly looked a bit confused as to why that was important, and that's when Phil joked: "We just caught them at it!"

Thankfully it wasn't a video call, as the viewer carried on with the game and managed to bag himself a UK holiday, £250 and... a candle scented like the This Morning studio.

As they hung up, Holly turned to Phil and said: "You are so naughty. Naughty man!"

She's not wrong.

Plenty of viewers saw the funny side of Phil's assumption, although others thought that Matthew could have been on the toilet or doing something else that was completely innocent, and agreed with Holly that Phil shouldn't have embarrassed him like that.

Elsewhere on today's show, Gino D'Acampo returned to the studio and hugged Holly and Phil through their specialised 'cuddle curtain'.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
