Watch: The Falcon and The Winter Solider Super Bowl trailer

Marvel heroes and fast cars dominated the annual Super Bowl trailer bonanza last night, with debuts from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Fast & Furious 9.

Though notably slimmer this year – with the coronavirus pandemic still finding cinemas around shuttered and release dates in flux – a few blockbuster moments still shone through.

Disney+ and Marvel's new series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier notably shone through – the tension between Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes crackling nicely.

Captain America's recently relinquished shield gets a look-in too, along with Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter (aka Agent 13) and Daniel Bruhl, back as Baron Zemo.

With Kari Skogland behind the camera, the series lands on Disney's streaming platform next month.

Meanwhile, Helen Mirren is finally spotted behind the wheel – if only for a split-second chuckle – in the new spot for Fast & Furious 9.

The 75-year-old dame of the stage and screen is back as Magdalene Shaw, mother of Deckard and Owen Shaw, as Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto admits he's missing the old, fast-moving life.

Not for long, obviously. Soon there's twisted metal and accelerators being punched in quick succession, not to mention an eye-popping stunt featuring what appears to be a giant magnet.

Justin Lin directs as Dom faces up to high-performance driver/assassin Jakob (John Cena), who, awkwardly for family events, also happens to be his brother, and old enemy Cipher (Charlize Theron).

The movie is currently scheduled for release on 28 May.

M. Knight Shyamalan's new chiller Old also got another teaser amid the tackles.

As per, there's a pretty high concept at work here – with the Sixth Sense director placing his character in a tropical paradise with a dark side (based on a graphic novel called Sandcastle).

Gael García Beral and Vicky Krieps play a couple on holiday, who discover that an idyllic beach is actually accelerating their march to the grave.

Shyamalan shot the whole thing in a lockdown bubble in the Dominican Republic, with his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan as second-unit director.

The inevitable 'twist' will be revealed on its release in July.

Watch: The Timothée Chalamet Edward Scissorhands Cadillac ad

And for a little light relief, we saw Timothée Chalamet channeling Tim Burton and Johnny Depp in a spoof reboot of Edward Scissorhands.

The Call Me By Your Name star is 'Edgar', perhaps for legal reasons, bursting footballs and ruining magnetic science experiments with his in his suburban town.

Luckily for him, his inordinately kind and wealthy mother gifts him an electric Cadillac Lyriq, the impressive cruise control feature meaning that his massive implement hands are no longer an issue.

Chalamet will be next up in Denis Villeneuve's Dune, debuting (currently) in October.
