Ah, So That's Why Black Widow Didn't Get A Big Send-Off In 'Endgame'

Despite how vast Avengers: Endgame ended up being, there wasn't time for absolutely everything everyone wanted.

There wasn't time to properly rummage through the wreckage of Bruce Banner and Black Widow's romance, for one thing, and other fans have wondered why Black Widow didn't get a bit of memorial time like Tony Stark did.

She did sacrifice herself to save half of the universe. You'd think your mates would hang about and have a pint in your honour if you jumped off a cliff for them. Now, though, we know why Black Widow didn't get that treatment in Endgame.

"People have asked why Natasha didn't get the same amount of screen time post-death as Tony did," says co-director Joe Russo on the DVD commentary for Endgame. "Well, Tony does not have another movie. Tony is done. And Natasha has another film. And Marvel Universe obviously does not have to move forward linearly anymore. But that character still has more screen time coming."

So, the Russos clearly saw Endgame as very much the full stop for Tony Stark - not to mention Captain America - but didn't feel beholden to tie things off with Natasha Romanoff before she got her own film. To be fair, it might be a bit odd to shift tonal gears into an excitable look at the character's roots having already given it the full 'RIP u will live on forever. Cant believe it. I wanna run to u. Really cant believe this. @'.
