Christmas seems to come earlier every year, but August? As many people enjoy their summer holidays, a UK TV channel is getting in the festive mood early.
With exactly five months to go until the big day itself, TV channel GREAT! romance — accessible via Freeview 52, Freesat 303, Sky 319 and Virgin 424 — has announced that ten flicks of the festive variety will fill its schedule on Saturday 5 August, beginning at 6am with 2017 title Enchanted Christmas.
Its synopsis teases: "Interior designer Laura returns to Utah to spearhead the renovation of an old hotel in time for the annual Christmas Eve show run by Ricardo, her ex-boyfriend and dance partner. When Laura steps in to dance in the finale with Ricardo, she is pulled between her job, her family, and her reawakened feelings for Ricardo."
Next up at 8am is another dose of snow-dusted romance with Marry Me at Christmas, followed by A Star-Crossed Christmas, The Christmas Pageant, Love at the Parade, and Christmas Catch.
This brings movie marathon-ers up to the 6pm point, where a much-needed Baileys on the rocks might make an appearance.
2018's Christmas with a Prince is next off the shelf, before My Christmas Love, and Hometown Holiday take us into the early hours of Sunday morning.
But why stick around GREAT! romance for that long?
"Marie Kendrick used to be the 'Christmas Queen' until she had her heart broken by her first love at Christmas," reads the movie's breakdown.
"To help Marie, her family decide to give her a box of Christmas ornaments to lift her spirits. Like magic, great things start to happen... a promotion, a hot date! But just as Marie starts feeling happy, ex-boyfriend Clark turns up with a new book about their failed relationship. Will the ornaments help find the magic in Christmas again? Or is it simply a matter of following her heart?"
