The Crown has shown fans a first glimpse at the show's depiction of the royal wedding between Prince Charles and Camilla, which will occur in the series' sixth season.

In a new tweet, Netflix released an image of a wedding program that reads: "Service of prayer and dedication following the marriage of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall."

The date at the bottom reads Saturday 9th April, 2005, and the image officially teases the show's depiction of the marriage ceremony between Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla Parker Bowles (Olivia Williams).

In the tweet, Netflix wrote: "After six seasons, seven years and three casts, The Crown comes to an end later this year. Here’s a hint at what’s to come in our final season."

The final season is said to depict events from 1997 until the mid-to-late 2000s and will cover major events such as Princess Diana's death, Tony Blair's tenure as Prime Minister, and the early relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Crown executive producers Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie recently spoke about how they would handle Diana's death in the show. Both producers said that they would depict the tragic event "sensitively."

"The show might be big and noisy, but we're not. We're thoughtful people and we're sensitive people," Mackie said.

"There were very careful, long conversations about how we were going to do it. The audience will judge it in the end, but I think it's been delicately, thoughtfully recreated."

The season will air sometime in Autumn this year, so there isn't long left to wait now to find out how exactly the final season of one of Netflix's flagship shows will bow out once and for all.

The Crown seasons 1-5 are streaming on Netflix. Seasons 1-4 are also available on DVD and Blu-ray.
