Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who character The Doctor has shared some essential advice while ‘hiding from Sontarans’ in a new video released on the official social media channels for the BBC sci-fi series.
Appearing in costume, and apparently filmed on her own mobile device, Whittaker’s Timelord is seen peeking out of a window from behind curtains before turning to camera and saying: “Oh hi, this is an emergency transmission”.
The Doctor explains: “If you’re seeing this the TARDIS must have detected an upsurge in psychological signals from somewhere in space and time. Basically, I think somebody, somewhere might be a little bit worried.”

She explains that she’s “self-isolating”, her way of saying “hiding from an army of Sontarans”, a classic Who alien race, before sharing five tips for coping with “worrying situations”. Here’s a summary, but you really need to watch the whole thing above.
“Remember, you’ll get through this... darkness never prevails”
“Tell jokes... especially bad ones”
“Be kind... sharing will help”
“Listen to science, and listen to doctors”
“Stay strong, stay positive”
The Doctor signs off with “i’ll be seeing you very soon”.
