Anyone else getting a hankering for a White Russian?

Because this looks suspiciously like bowling and marijuana enthusiast The Dude might be back for another frame.

In a cryptic message posted to his Twitter account, Jeff Bridges appears in a brief clip, wearing the Dude’s cardigan, set to the strains of Bob Dylan’s The Man In Me.

He’s in a bar, and in the next frame, tumbleweed rolls past on a red carpet, with a date on screen of February 3, 2019.

“Can’t be living in the past, man. Stay tuned,” he captions.

The clue is, of course, all in the date – as it’s the biggest TV date of the year in the US, that of the Super Bowl, which will see the Los Angeles Rams (presumably the Dude’s team) take on the New England Patriots.

So in short, it’s most likely a Super Bowl ad for a yet-to-be-announced product/company/service we’re looking at here, rather than a sequel to the Coen Brothers’ benchmark 1998 comedy.

We’ve been hurt this way before, of course.

Last year, we were all expecting a sequel to Crocodile Dundee starring Danny McBride, Chris Hemsworth, and a host of Australian acting talent.

Sadly, it all turned out to be an elaborate ruse by the Australian Tourist Board.
