'Elf' is returning to cinemas this Christmas: Watch a brand new trailer

Fresh from Yahoo naming it the best Christmas film of the 21st century, Park Circus has announced that Jon Favreau’s Elf will return to the big screen in style this holiday season, in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures International.

The Christmas favourite from New Line Productions, originally released in the US on November 7 2003, will be released in over 400 cinemas across the UK and Ireland, and selected international territories, from December 4, 2019.

Will Ferrell stars as the ultimate fish out of water, Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts on Christmas Eve and is transported to the North Pole and raised as an elf. Years later Buddy learns he is not really an elf and goes on a journey to New York City to find his true identity.

Frequently voted onto lists of 'best ever' Christmas films, Elf is a smartly written, skilfully directed and beautifully acted family classic, which has spawned a whole raft of spin-offs, including a stage musical and an animated television special.

Mark Hirzberger-Taylor, CEO of Park Circus, said: "We hope that the chance to see Elf back in cinemas will be a perfect Christmas gift for audiences, alongside the other classic films we are proud to be bringing back to the big screen this holiday season together with our valued studio partners".
