Elle Fanning Is Unrecognisable As Transgender Teen In About Ray Trailer

Tissues at the ready, because this one looks like a tear-jerker.

But who’s that in the lead?

- Henry Cavill admits sex scene arousal
- First Dad’s Army poster
- Happy Days cast: then and now

It’s former child star star Elle Fanning (of ‘Maleficent’ and 'Super 8’ fame) looking unrecognisable in 'About Ray’, the story of Ray, born a girl but who is seeking gender reassignment.

Taking on the drama is Naomi Watts as Ray’s mother Maggie, Tate Donovan as her estranged father Craig and Susan Sarandon as Ray’s lesbian grandmother.

After the permission for her reassignment is refused by her father, she has to track him and his new family down to ask why.

Written by Nikole Beckwith and helmed by British director Gaby Dellal, it’s due out in the US next month (there’s no UK release date as yet).

It’s the latest in a clutch of solid projects from Fanning.

Next up is 'Trumbo’, the biopic of screenwriting legend Dalton Trumbo, who was blacklisted as a communist sympathiser in the 40s and 50s.

It stars Bryan Cranston in the lead alongside Louis CK, Helen Mirren and John Goodman.

She also stars in the forthcoming movie from 'Drive’s Nicolas Winding Refn, 'The Neon Demon’, along with Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks and Jena Malone.
