If Daredevil Appears In Avengers: Infinity War He May Be Recast Says Charlie Cox

‘Daredevil’ star Charlie Cox has revealed that Marvel may recast his role as New York’s blind vigilante if the character were to appear in 2018’s 'Avengers: Infinity War’.

Cox made the comments in an interview ahead of the Netflix show’s second season, which is set to start in March.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Cox said: “Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things. So even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would appear in that film. I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose.”

While the final part is said in jest, there must be an element of truth to what he said before. It does seem an unlikely move however, as the Netflix shows and movies do co-exist in the same universe, even if they have seldom crossed over.

Actors have made a move in the other direction however. Most famously Clark Gregg’s reprised his role as Agent Coulson in 'Agents of SHIELD’ and then there’s Hayley Atwell and Dominic Cooper who play their 'Captain America: The First Avenger’ roles of Peggy Carter and Howard Stark in 'Agent Carter’.

Fans would love see Daredevil appear alongside Captain America and Iron Man in the anticipated two-part sequel, as well as his fellow Netflix Marvel superheroes Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and the as-of-yet un-cast Iron Fist.

Those heroes will form 'The Defenders’ and will star alongside each other in their own Netflix series, which is in the pipeline.

'Avengers: Infinity War’ will see the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe unite to combat the threat posed to Earth and the galaxy by Josh Brolin’s Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Thanos.

It’s likely the large majority of the big screen’s characters will star alongside one another in parts 1 and 2, which are split between 2018 and 2019. ‘Daredevil’ season two will be available from 18 March.
