Susanna Reid and Lorraine Kelly have weighed in on Hugh Grant's controversial Oscars interview.

The acting legend, and star of Paddington 2, appeared on the red carpet of the awards ceremony and was interviewed by Ashley Graham only to give the presenter a series of short, sardonic answers which received a mixed response online.

Reid discussed the Grant while co-hosting Good Morning Britain, saying: "Spare a thought for ABC's Ashley Graham. She saw Hugh Grant, who is famous for sometimes being a little bit short with his words."

Kelly later added on her own show: "It’s the most awkward Oscars moment since slap-gate. ABC’s Ashley Graham was interviewing Hugh Grant before the awards [and] let’s just say that he kept his answers quite curt and short."

Kelly also appeared to not agree with Grant's line of answering: "I know he’s been asked those questions a million times, but you just have to smile and get on with it."

On the Oscars red carpet, Graham asked Grant a series of questions such as "What was it like to be in Glass Onion? How fun is it to shoot something like that?"

Grant, who only has a very brief cameo in the film, replied by saying: "Well I'm barely in it, I was in it for about three seconds."

She also asked him: "What are you wearing?" to which he simply replied "my suit".

Grant is currently set for a busy couple of months as he has two new films out in March and April.

He can first be seen in Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves where he will play Forge Fitzwilliam.

Grant will then appear in Guy Ritchie's Operation Fortune as villain Greg Simmonds. It will be Grant's third collaboration with Ritchie after The Gentlemen and The Man from UNCLE.
