In the sixth episode of the third season, Din Djarin and Grogu travel to the plant of Plazir-15 that is thriving after the fall of the Empire. The duo then meet the rulers of the planet who are none other than Jack Black and Lizzo.

They play Duchess and Captain Bombardier a slightly eccentric and incredibly wealthy couple who rule the planet in a hybrid of monarchy and democracy.

The plot leads Dharin and Bo-Katan to investigate droid malfunctions on the planet where they cross paths with Plazir-15's commissioner who is played by Back to the Future legend Christopher Lloyd.

Lloyd's character ends up being the one causing the malfunctions as part of his plot to undermine the rule of the Bombardier's.

He gets the meatier role of the three, complete with a monologue that namedrops prequels villain Count Dooku.

Fans have been reacting positively to the surprise appearances on social media with one saying: "Seeing Christopher Lloyd in Mandalorian has cheered me right up this morning, can’t lie."

Another said: "Lizzo, Jack Black, and Christopher Lloyd all in one episode? the best unexpected cameos."

One fan joked: "Lizzo's manifesting powers are on another level," making reference to the time the pop star dressed up as Grogu for Halloween.

In 2021, photos emerged of Lizzo out partying in the Grogu get-up to which she said jokingly: "A representative from Grogu's publicity team has issued a statement regarding the paparazzi photos taken last night: 'Grogu aka Baby Yoda aka The Child has no recollection of these events.

"In fact, these events never happened *jedi hand wave.*'"
