Yahoo Movies New Mrs Doubtfire musical shares first look at Rob McClure as the iconic nanny
A new Mrs Doubtfire musical is heading to Broadway later this month, and we have finally been given our first look at the cast – including the new Mrs Doubtfire herself.
Based on Robin Williams' beloved 1993 movie of the same name, the Broadway show sees actor Rob McClure taking over the role of Daniel Hillard, a father who's looking for way to re-connect with his three kids after losing custody in a messy divorce.
In a bid to stay in his children's lives, Hillard adopts the identity of a fun-loving Scottish nanny named Euphegenia Doubtfire, and ends up being employed by his ex-wife Miranda.

The first photos of McClure in character as Mrs Doubtfire have now been released via Entertainment Weekly, alongside a first look at the rest of the Hillard family too.
Miranda will be played by Jenn Gambatese, while children Lydia, Christopher, and Natalie will be played by Analise Scarpaci, Jake Ryan Flynn and Avery Sell respectively.
"Say hello, dear, to your new Mrs. Doubtfire!" EW captioned the first-look photo on their Instagram page.
"Here's your exclusive first look at @mcclurerob as the iconic nanny in the upcoming Broadway musical based on the beloved 1993 Robin Williams film."

McClure himself shared a statement about his new role to Entertainment Weekly and reflected on the challenges facing a musical adaptation of the movie.
"Euphegenia Doubtfire takes a village," he said. "I've got an entire Indianapolis 500 pit crew back there.
"My dressers and make-up team are superheroes. One of the most thrilling differences between the movie and the Broadway show is that we are doing this in real time.
"When Daniel Hillard runs into the other room and emerges as everyone's favourite Scottish nanny 18 seconds later, our director can't yell cut and send me to a trailer for five hours. We've got 18 seconds," he added.
"I can feel the audience sweating with me! 'IS HE GONNA MAKE IT?!?' The stakes are so high! It makes for electrifying theatre."

The musical opens in previews on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre later this month ahead of its official premiere on April 5.
And let's just hope the musical gets a better reception on Broadway than it has done so far on Instagram, as there's no hiding the fact that people aren't too enthusiastic about the project online.
After seeing the first-look image, one user commented: "Nope nope nope," while someone else simply wrote: "Yikes."
