A mum of two has spoken out about “bump shaming” after trolls on Instagram called her out on her bump size.

Elisha Bakes, 30, who lives in Melbourne, Australia, posted a photo of herself in January – at nine months pregnant – to her 35,900 followers on Instagram.

She was pictured next to a friend who was due at the same time, showing the difference between their bumps. In the caption, she complained of the “bullying” she had received during her pregnancy, calling it “crazy” how many comments she had received.

She has since given birth to son Kaelan, who was born last month, and she also has another son, Kyson, who was born in April 2017.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Style UK, Elisha explained her height and body shape mean her bumps during her two pregnancies looked especially large.

“There’s a lot of factors that can make you bigger. I’m 5”3 and have a small torso and carry a lot of fluid,” she explained.

“My partner is also quite tall (6”3). I think if your partner is on the taller side there’s a chance you’re going to have a bigger baby genetically speaking.”

In recent months, Meghan Markle’s pregnancy has been in the headlines – with bump watchers speculating her bump size meaans she’s further along than previously thought.
