My Mum, Your Dad rival dating show in development with a twist

A mature dating show to rival 'My Mum, Your Dad' is reportedly in development.

The ITV series - which is hosted by Davina McCall - has proven to be a huge hit with viewers enjoying seeing older singletons looking for love, and now the team behind 'I Kissed A Boy' and 'Loaded In Paradise' want to make a new show featuring over-45s from the UK and US.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Bosses believe viewers might be getting fed up with young contestants only signing up for fame, rather than love, which is why 'My Mum, Your Dad' was such a hit — they were in it for the right reasons.

“They now see the value of having a show dedicated to mature stars who will see if love or friendship can blossom while on feel-good dates.”

With the show said to already be in development with hopes it will air in 2024, it's thought a rival to ITV could land the rights.

Last month, it was confirmed that 'My Mum, Your Dad' is returning for a second season.

The show sees single parents in their 40s and 50s return to the dating scene at a Surrey mansion.

Reflecting on her time on the dating show and her excitement to host more, Davina said: "I want to present this show for the rest of my life!

"I've been sent photographs of couples since. I really am Cupid!"

ITV bosses were thrilled to learn that 'My Mum, Your Dad' enjoyed a large audience, reaching an average of three million viewers per episode.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone remains very excited to see how the format can develop in the future."
