Mum's the word for Andie MacDowell

Andie MacDowell and her daughter Rainey Qualley are to play mother and daughter on-screen in indie movie Mother's Day.

The Four Weddings And A Funeral star and her daughter join Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino in the ensemble movie following interwoven mother-daughter relationships set across one Mother's Day, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

The movie, which will also star Christina Ricci, is being written and directed by Paul Duddridge, a Welsh theatrical agent turned director whose clients have included Rob Brydon.

Rainey, who is the middle child of Andie's three children, made her movie debut opposite her mum in indie movie Mighty Fine and was named Miss Golden Globe earlier this year.
