Yahoo Movies Muppet Christmas Carol's 'lost' song is being added into a new version
A lost song from The Muppet Christmas Carol has been found, just in time for the festive season!
'When Love is Gone' is performed by Scrooge's (Sir Michael Caine) fiancée Belle (played by Meredith Braun) when he goes back in time. It was removed from the 1992 film because Disney's then-studio chief Jeffrey Katzenberg feared children would get bored during the emotional ballad.
After it was cut from the theatrical release, the song's video master and negative were both lost, though the song did appear on the VHS version of the film.

But now (in what may well be a Christmas miracle) director Brian Henson has revealed the song has been found, having been discovered while the film was being remastered in 4K.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2 to OJ Borg in a special programme about The Muppets that will be broadcast on Christmas Day, Henson explained that he was only told about the discovery when he was asked to view the remastered version.
"I was so excited. They actually hid it... so I went down and they said: 'But before we show it to you, we've got something else we want to show you,'" Henson revealed.
"And they put up reel four of Christmas Carol with 'When Love Is Gone'. I was like, 'No, you did not!' and they said, 'Yes we did! We found it!' I was so happy, I was so happy.
"They are all set with the full-length version again. I don't know if they are going to get it up on Disney Plus in time for Christmas because they have all these processes but it is coming back, the full-length version is coming back."
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly previously about the song, Henson said: "[The movie] certainly plays well without the song, but I obviously preferred having the song in.
"I think it's good for kids to be pulled into deeply emotional moments, even if they feel slightly awkward about it when they're in a movie theater."
OJ Borg's Muppets Christmas Special will air on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Day.
