A mystery winner has come forward to claim a EuroMillions jackpot prize of £79.3 million, the National Lottery said.

It is the biggest UK EuroMillions win of 2020 so far and only the fifth this year.

The winning numbers for Tuesday’s draw were 13, 15, 28, 32, 44 and the lucky star numbers were 03 and 12.

According to Camelot, which runs the National Lottery in the UK, the exact amount won by the ticket-holder was £79,315,197.70.

The verification process will now begin so the prize money can be awarded.

EuroMillions is played across nine European countries - the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.

The jackpot starts at €17 million (around £15,300,00 depending on the exchange rate) and can increase up to a maximum value of €200 million (more than £180 million).

There will be no information on whether the winner is an individual or syndicate winner, or where the ticket was purchased, unless the ticket-holder decides to go public.

A £57.8m EuroMillions jackpot was paid out to a winner in Scotland in September, six months after the winning ticket was drawn.

On average, around £30 million is raised every week for projects across the UK, both big and small, including funding everything from local community projects to supporting the nation’s elite athletes.
