Former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has revealed since becoming a parent she is fearful of “everything”.

The 34-year-old singer - who has a five-year-old daughter Anaiya with American footballer Jason Bell - is heading into the Australian jungle to take part in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and hopes to confront her feelings of anxiety.

Coyle said: “I am scared of so many things. I used to be brave. In the past, I’ve opened a restaurant, had a record label, had my daughter and it was go, go, go with all of these. Now I have got so fearful even being in the car, flying or general things. I think it is since I became a parent that I am much more afraid.”

She added: “I really hope that by doing this, it pushes me so far out the comfort zone and that I learn to be comfortable, feel relaxed and do the things that I didn’t used to be afraid of.”

But the Love Machine singer admitted she is already worried about missing her daughter.

She said: “I have been away for ten days for work before but not longer. I am dreading being away from everybody and not being able to phone and say, ‘How are you doing?’ ‘How is my daughter?’.”

And Coyle revealed even her own family doubt her ability to cope with jungle camp life.

She said: “Some of my friends and family were really shocked. They asked me what I was doing and pointed out I was afraid of my own shadow! But I am just hoping my Jungle lady will come out!”

There have long been rumours of tensions between Coyle and her former Girls Aloud bandmates - Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh - and last year Coyle confirmed in an interview she had not kept in touch with any of them.

The Northern Irish singer lived in Los Angeles for nine years and opened her own restaurant Irish Mist, which closed in 2015 when she announced she was moving back to Ireland to be closer to her family after welcoming Anaiya.

Coyle was due to embark on a solo tour in May last year, but the entire tour was cancelled in April, just one month before it was due to take place, with no plans to reschedule.
