NBCU Taps Anand Kini To Be CFO

NBCUniversal has had a hard time hanging on to CFOs, but may have more luck with its latest appointment: Anand Kini. The Comcast vet joined NBCU in 2011 as SVP of Strategic Planning and Development. Last year he was promoted to EVP of Strategy and Business Insights.

In February NBCU named Kini interim CFO when Visa hired away Vasant Prabhu — who moved to the company from Starwood Hotels & Resorts in June 2014. He replaced former Morgan Stanley Media and Communications Group head Stuart Epstein, who joined the media company in late 2011.

“Anand is a very important member of our executive team and his contributions have played a key role in our success,” says NBCU chief Steve Burke.

At Comcast, Kini managed the cable operation’s forecasting, annual budget, and three-year planning process — and helped to scope out market trends and strategies. The Harvard MBA came to the company in 2007 from video game maker Activision Blizzard, following a stint as Director of Financial Planning for Disney’s Parks and Resorts.
