Netflix picks up 'Enola Holmes' movie with Millie Bobby Brown as Sherlock's sister

Netflix has scooped up the Enola Holmes movie, with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown playing the teenage sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes.

Produced by Legendary (and with 16-year-old Brown also a producer), it picks up the material from the book series by Nancy Springer, namely the 2006 adventure The Case of the Missing Marquess.

Alongside Brown on the bill are Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes and Hunger Games' Sam Claflin as Mycroft.

Meanwhile, Helena Bonham Carter plays Enola's mother Eudoria, with alongside Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, Adeel Akhtar and Harry Potter's Frances de la Tour.

Fleabag director Harry Bradbeer is behind the camera, with the film having shot and wrapped last summer.

Springer's YA novels, the first of which was published in 2006, centre around Enola, a budding detective like her older brother, who is sent to a finishing school against her will when her mother disappears.

From there, she absconds to London, setting up her own detective agency specialising in missing persons.

Including this first book, there are six in the series, leaving scope for sequels if this first movie goes down well.

Legendary also has a number of other high profile movies in the post, including Godzilla vs. Kong and Denis Villeneuve's hotly anticipated Dune.
