Netflix to release new version of Knives Out sequel Glass Onion

Netflix is set to release a new version of Knives Out sequel Glass Onion with commentary from director Rian Johnson.

The news was confirmed via the film's official Twitter page, with a post showcasing a new dramatic monochrome poster for the film.

"I keep returning, in my mind, to the Glass Onion… Tomorrow. 10 am PT. #GlassOnionIsBack," the tweet reads.

Glass Onion began streaming on Netflix late last year, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc for a brand new assignment around tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and his closest friends.

It featured a star-studded cast including the likes of Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline.

The movie was a huge hit for Netflix, as it became one of most successful movies ever on the streaming platform at the time of its release – with more than 250 million hours viewed in the first month.

Johnson recently revealed that writing has begun for a third installment in the Knives Out franchise.

Speaking to Variety, he said: "I'm starting to work on the third movie now, and that's also what's got me creatively jazzed: I don't have to replicate the last movie at all. The goal is to strike out in a completely new direction tonally and thematically."

Johnson also told Digital Spy in December: "The key is landing on something that first of all feels different than the first two and also feels like... the only reason for us to keep making these is if we're excited about making them."

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is now streaming on Netflix.
