Netflix has given us a first look at The Descendants actress Sofia Carson in her brand new movie Feel the Beat and she definitely looks like she's ready to show off her moves.

NetflixFilm shared four sneak peek photos from the movie on its Twitter account along with a description of the movie and it looks set to be the feel-good film you're looking for during lockdown.

"Disgraced Broadway actress returns home to train a misfit group of dancers for a big competition? Sign us up!! FEEL THE BEAT, starring @SofiaCarson, comes to Netflix on June 18", the description reads (with a later addition correcting the date to June 19).

The photos show Carson as April in action dancing, as well as sitting on a bench looking slightly melancholy and chatting to a friend. We also get a look at the group of dancers April is training, looking very coordinated in pink and grey tracksuits.

There were some very excited reactions to the news, with fans commenting: "OMFG I CANT WAIT QUEEN IS GONNA SLAY" and "I can't wait I'm so excited... be still my heart".

Disney's The Descendants follows the teenage children of iconic Disney villains Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White's Evil Queen, Aladdin's Jafar and Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations and the film became so popular that it has led to two sequels.

Star Dove Cameron recently told Digital Spy that she thinks the franchise will continue, saying: "To be completely honest, as an actor who is not beholden to Disney, I would say that I think it would be smart for them to capitalise on the brand that they created. I think it would be smart to do maybe a spin-off with maybe the younger characters.

"I have not heard anything about that. I know that Disney has been very specific about saying that this world doesn't really ever end, it goes on forever and the possibilities are endless."

Feel the Beat lands on Netflix on June 19.
