Netflix has dropped a first look at its latest big release The Old Guard, which stars Charlize Theron as an ancient warrior.
The new film — which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kiki Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Harry Melling and Matthias Schoenaerts — has also been given a release date.
The Old Guard will drop on the platform on July 10, and in the first images we can see Theron and her group of immortal mercenaries primed and ready for action.
Based on a graphic novel of the same name, the movie sees Andy (Theron) lead the group on an emergency mission as their mysterious powers are suddenly exposed. It's up to Andy and new recruit Nile (Layne) to eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetise their power.
Speaking to Vanity Fair about her character and the hopeless state we find her in, Theron explained: "It was important to feel the weight of thousands and thousands of years on her.
"The worst part for her is just feeling like she's not doing anything. So what is the point, you know? She's lost faith, not just in herself but in humanity.
"I think a lot of people can relate to that at this moment in time. We go through periods in life where we just look at the world and go, 'Oh my God…' You just feel like you're pushing a rock up a mountain."
She added of signing-on for the movie: "From the first moment I read [Greg] Rucka's graphic novel, I felt like there was great potential to make this thing feel really very relevant and have it ask some real questions about humanity.
"Is what we're doing enough? Is what we're doing actually changing anything? Are we making better or are we making the world worse?”
We'll certainly be adding this to our July watchlist.
The Old Guard will stream on Netflix from July 10.
