Netflix star joins Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart in Borderlands movie

Netflix star Haley Bennett has joined Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart for the upcoming film adaptation of Borderlands.

The actress, who most recently appeared in Hillbilly Elegy and The Devil All the Time, will play someone with a key link to Cate Blanchett's siren character, Lilith.

So far, the rest of the cast for Borderlands includes Kevin Hart as super soldier Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as archaeologist Tannis, Ariana Greenblatt as explosives expert Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as bandit Krieg and Jack Black as the voice of sarcastic robot Claptrap.

Plot details for the film, which is being directed by Eli Roth, haven't been officially revealed just yet. All we know is that it's based on the popular video game of the same name, which is set on the abandoned planet of Pandora, where people are in search of a mysterious relic.

Announcing his casting back in January, Hart wrote on Instagram: "This is a BIG one....So excited to be working with Cate Blanchett & Eli Roth on such an amazing project.

"Borderlands .....Wooooooow. God is gooooooood!!!!! Let's goooooooo #HustleHart."

In a statement, Roth said: "Borderlands is a different kind of role for [Kevin], and we are excited to thrill audiences with a side of Kevin they've never seen before," he added. "He's going to be an amazing Roland."
