Netflix has unveiled a first-look trailer for new dance comedy Work It.
Starring Disney's Sabrina Carpenter, the upcoming movie follows an ambitious student who must win a dance competition to improve her chances of getting into a prestigious college.
Carpenter's character Quinn is in desperate need of more extracurricular activities if she's to get into the college of her dreams, so when she's rejected from a competitive dance troupe, her friend Jas (Liza Koshy) agrees to help her set up a rival team.
The film's official synopsis reads: "When Quinn Ackerman’s (Carpenter) admission to the college of her dreams depends on her performance at a dance competition, she forms a ragtag group of dancers to take on the best squad in school…now she just needs to learn how to dance.”
From the makers of To All the Boys Who Loved Me and The Kissing Boothe, the film looks set to offer up some serious Step Up vibes.
In the trailer, which you can watch above, Quinn and Jas recruit an unlikely bunch of performers, including a three-time competition-winning choreographer, someone they found on social media and a Conan O'Brien lookalike who's supposedly great at doing flips.
The cast also includes Jordan Fisher, who played John Ambrose in To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, as well as stand-up comedian Michelle Buteau, who plays the straight-talking college admissions administrator.
Work It will premier on Netflix on August 7, 2020.
