Fear Street Part 3: 1666 spoilers follow.

Fear Street director Leigh Janiak has addressed Part 3: 1666's teaser in its closing moments.

With our heroes celebrating their victory over an ancient evil power, the camera shoots back to the local Shadyside mall, where many of the Netflix movie's freakiest sequences occurred.

Here, a mysterious set of hands emerge, aiming for the spell-book left behind by Sheriff Goode.

Recently asked by Collider if this was simply a throwaway moment, Janiak laughed: "Oh no, no, no, we have ideas. We have ideas, for sure."

Consider this horrific tale well and truly alive, beyond the trilogy.

Meanwhile, the filmmaker also got chatting to IndieWire about her future ambitions for the franchise.

"My hope is that audiences like it enough that we can start building out [more], we can think about what another trilogy would be, what standalones would be, what TV would be," she explained.

"I don't even think about it like TV or movies exactly anymore. That's the great thing about Netflix and about what Fear Street is, which is kind of a hybrid new thing. I'm excited about the possibility of what else can happen."

Fear Street Part 1: 1994, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 and Fear Street Part 3: 1666 are all streaming on Netflix.
