New Concept Art For ‘The Good Dinosaur’ Released
While 2014 was populated with dozens upon dozens of truly glorious cinematic treats, there is one reason why it was blighted. It didn’t see the release of a Pixar film.
‘The Good Dinosaur’ was supposed to hit cinemas at some point over the last 12 months. However production issues have now seen it delayed until November 2015.
But Pixar has now looked to prove that everything is back on track with their seventeenth feature film by releasing new concept art for ‘The Good Dinosaur’. You can peruse at it below.
Beautiful stuff. The concept art suggests that Pixar will be embracing old-school animation for the buddy comedy, while it also looks as though it might be the studio’s most cartoonish film to date, bar the ‘Cars’ franchise.

However this is all just guess work at the moment and we will get a clearer indication of the film’s style when the first official image and trailer are released.
‘The Good Dinosaur’ in question is Arlo, who becomes pals and the traveling companion of a human boy after a traumatic event unsettles his family.
It should probably be mentioned at this point that ‘The Good Dinosaur’ takes place during an era where humans and dinosaurs co-exist, as the latter never went extinct. Other than that though very little is still known about the film.
Well that’s not exactly true, because we also know that the voice cast will include the likes of Lucas Neff, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, and Judy Greer. But other than that we know zilch. I promise.
But should we be worried by Pixar’s struggle to bring ‘The Good Dinosaur’ to the big-screen? Maybe. While it’s true that in the past Pixar have been able to save struggling films by replacing their directors, most notably with ‘Ratatouille’, the latter probably only was rectified because the director who was brought in the animation deity that is Brad Bird.
‘The Good Dinosaur’ has gone through many amalgamations since it was originally devised over 5 years ago, and while Pixar’s track record of selecting its cinematic material is almost flawless there’s still a chance that the positive elements that originally drew the studio to the film have been diluted down because of the creative changes.
I have faith that won’t be the case though. But we’ll finally find out when ‘The Good Dinosaur’ hits cinemas in the UK on November 27, 2015.
