New Man of Steel poster revealed

Pic looks to show Superman in a spot of bother with the authorities

A new poster for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot 'Man of Steel' has cast more intrigue onto the already intriguing project.

It shows Superman, played by British actor Henry Cavill, cuffed and surrounded by military guards, clearly suggesting that at some point Kal-El falls foul of the authorities.

Such a move would tally with producer Christopher Nolan's treatment of Batman in his 'Dark Knight' trilogy, flipping him between popular hero and pariah.

More will doubtless be revealed when the full-length trailer debuts before 'The Hobbit: An Expected Journey', when it hits the UK on December 14.

The previous teaser trailer gave little away, other than showing Clark Kent as a trawlerman, some artistic shots of smalltown USA, and culminating with Superman breaking the sound barrier.

'Boardwalk Empire' star Michael Shannon will play General Zod, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crow as Superman's father Jor-El, Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White, and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent.

It's been written by 'Dark Knight Rises' scribe David S. Goyer and arrives in the UK on June 14, 2013.
