‘The Wolverine’s’ four month shoot wrapped late last November in Sydney and aside from an impressively buff promotional image of Jackman released back in September, this is the first real on-set pic we’ve seen.
This next chapter in the popular X-Men character arc is helmed by ‘Walk The Line’ and ‘Knight and Day’ director James Mangold, whilst the script come courtesy of fellow Tom Cruise veteran and ‘Jack Reacher’ director Christopher McQuarrie,
The story is based off ‘Sin City’ creator Frank Miller and X-Men artist Chris Claremont’s comic book series of the same name. But, other than that, little is known about exactly plot details, save a purposefully vague synopsis from 20th Century Fox:
‘‘The Wolverine’ finds finds Logan (Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.’
Who that mysteries figure is, is yet to be seen, but we’re pretty sure Logan can handle it. Just look at those guns… and claws.
‘The Wolverine’ is set for UK release 26th July 2013.
