Nick Knowles pays tribute to boy who appeared on 'DIY SOS'
Nick Knowles has paid tribute after the death of a “wonderful” young boy who appeared on DIY SOS.
Oliver Hudson – who suffered from hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid in the brain – appeared on the BBC renovation series with his brothers and dad Darren Hudson in 2019.
The episode aired again this week and afterwards Knowles shared a moving social media post telling viewers that Oliver had died.

“The boys & I @DIYSOS & volunteers send condolences to our friend Darren & his lovely family on the sad passing of wonderful Ollie who is missed & was so loved,” he wrote on Instagram.
“The outpouring of affection toward this family after the broadcast has been humbling.”
The episode showed the DIY SOS team transforming the home shared by Darren, who is battling a degenerative spinal condition, and his sons. Darren’s wife died three years ago.
Many viewers were moved by the family’s story.
“Such sad news, those young boys and their dad have been through so much heartache, I hope they see some sunshine now, what an amazing lovely family,” one fan said on Twitter.
Another said it was “absolutely heart-breaking”, adding: “What a wonderful, brave, loving family who didn't deserve any more sadness in their life.”
“Inspirational family, each and every one of them,” posted another. “Awful news, RIP young man Ollie.”

Another viewer wrote: “How much can one family go through?
“Brought me to tears last night how wonderful they are. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.”
