Nicole Byer and Rufus Wainwright Lead 2024/2025 Season Lineup for The Wallis (EXCLUSIVE)
Comedian Nicole Byer and singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright are some of the artists featured on the 2024-2025 programming lineup for the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
Rufus Wainwright will be at The Wallis for three nights reimagining his project “Rufus-Retro-Wainwright-Spective,” performing a unique program every night. Additionally, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will perform works by Schumann and Schubert while the LA Opera will feature the voices of renowned vocalists Benjamin Bernheim, Ryan Speedo Green and Joshua Guerrero. The 2024-2025 season will feature additional musical performances by the string quartet Brooklyn Rider, the Scott Dunn orchestra and the Pacific Jazz Orchestra.

This season will also feature multiple theater performances, including “Here There Are Blueberries,” by Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich; the stage adaptation of J.M. Coetzee’s novel “Life & Times of Michael K”; William Kentridge’s “The Great YES, The Great NO”; and a one-night-only stand up show performed by Nicole Byer.
L.A. Dance Project is slated to present Benjamin Millepied’s interpretation of Prokofiev’s “Romeo & Juliet Suite”; the Los Angeles Ballet will perform “Memoryhouse” by artistic director Melissa Barak; and Mark Morris Dance Group will tribute the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club” with “Pepperland.” BODYTRAFFIC and the circus company Circa are also a part of this season’s lineup at The Wallis.
“This season marks the culmination of my 28-year journey that began in London in 1995 where my passion for the arts was ignited and I discovered the transformative power of artistic expression,” said Robert van Leer, executive director and CEO of The Wallis. “Jump to today, it is with pride that I usher in a new era of artistic excellence at our respected institution. I’ve nurtured relationships with an array of artists and arts organizations over the years, many of which contribute to our upcoming season. This new creative family encompasses music ensembles and theater makers to dance companies and film partners – all celebrating LA’s performing arts, alongside national and international leaders.”
