Nicole Kidman, one of Hollywood's biggest stars, has revealed she didn't think she was talented enough to star in Notting Hill.

The lead role of Anna Scott went to Julia Roberts in the 1999 film, who along with a star-studded cast including Hugh Grant, Rhys Ifans, Hugh Bonneville, and Emma Chambers, made the film one of the most popular rom-coms of all time.

However, in an interview in Marie Claire alongside Grant, who played Will Thacker, the actress admitted that it was the one role she really wanted, but she didn't think she was famous or talented enough for it.

"I really wanted the role that Julia Roberts played in Notting Hill," Kidman revealed. "But I wasn't well known enough, and I wasn't talented enough."

Things are certainly different these days for the actress who thought she wasn't talented enough for a role.

She's currently starring alongside Grant in the thriller The Undoing, based on the novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, which reunites her with Big Little Lies writer David E Kelley.

The six-part drama sees Kidman as prominent therapist Grace, who is on the verge of publishing her first book when her loving husband (Grant) vanishes.

His disappearance unearths horrifying and ever-spiralling revelations about their marriage that threaten to destroy everything that Grace built.

The Undoing premieres on October 26 in the UK on Sky Atlantic.
